James River Cardiology is currently looking for a new Medical Assistant to add to our staff!
Certified Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical tasks to keep the flow of the office going.
These administrative duties are under direction of the Office Manager. All clinical duties are under the immediate direction of the provider (physicians and mid-levels). When performing administrative duties, the Certified Medical Assistant may update and file patients' medical records, arrange for hospital admissions, answer telephones, greet patients, schedule appointments and handle correspondence.
When performing clinical duties, the medical assistant may take medical history, record vital signs, perform electrocardiogram, explain treatment procedures to patients, prepare patients for examinations, and assist physicians during examinations. They may also arrange examining room instruments and equipment, order and maintain supplies and equipment, and keep waiting and examining rooms neat and clean. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills.
Education: Completion of a formal medical assisting program (MA or CMA)
