Kylene Botts NP earned her Bachelor's degree in nursing in 2006 and her Master's degree in Nursing in 2008, both at Virginia Commonwealth University.  She is credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner as a family nurse practitioner. As a nurse, Kylene worked at VCUHS on the cardiac telemetry step-down unit caring for congestive heart failure and arrhythmia patients, as well as those preparing for and recovering from procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and pacemaker placement.  She then worked in primary care as a nurse practitioner from 2008-2016.

Kylene joined James River Cardiology in November of 2016, as her interest in health promotion and care of heart failure and coronary disease patients drew her back to the specialty.  She currently maintains privileges at Southside Regional Medical Center.

Outside of work, Kylene enjoys spending time with her two young children and husband, as well as running and being outdoors.
