Kareem Niazi, M.D. was born in Albany, NY and is a graduate of Dartmouth College, NH.  He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine.  Dr. Niazi completed his Internal Medicine Residency at North Shore University Hospital, NY and his General Cardiology Fellowship from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, NJ.   He returned to North Shore University Hospital for his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship. 

Dr. Niazi is an Interventional Cardiologist with a focus on treating complex coronary artery blockages, peripheral vascular disease, and structural heart disease (predominantly valve problems) including nonsurgical aortic valve replacement (TAVR) as well as and PFO/ASD closure.  Dr. Niazi is passionate about his patients’ well-being, focusing on getting his patients to live their best and healthiest lives.  He has presented his research at major cardiovascular conferences around the country and has received awards for excellence in teaching.  

Dr. Niazi is board certified in Interventional Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Vascular Ultrasound.  

He lives in Midlothian, VA with his wife and two daughters.  For recreation, he enjoys traveling and exploring RVA with his family, going to the beach, hiking, exercising, and reading.
