Stephanie O'Connor, NP

Stephanie O'Connor, NP, earned her Bachelor's degree in 2013 from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Master's degree in Nursing from South University in 2023.  She is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She maintains privileges at Southside Regional Medical Center, Southern Virginia Medical Center, and  Southampton Memorial Hospital.
 

As a nurse, Stephanie worked primarily in the critical care setting, with her main focus and interest being emergency medicine.  She found her passion there, caring for patients with acute cardiovascular disease.   She holds various trauma and cardiac certifications.

In addition, she has experience with community nursing and briefly worked as a home health and palliative care nurse. This experience drove her interest in health promotion and providing care to those in medically underserved areas. She enjoys treating and educating patients with coronary disease and heart failure.

As a Brunswick County resident, she looks forward to serving Emporia and the Southern Virginia communities.

Professionally, she is an active member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA).

Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys gardening, renovating her farmhouse, and spending time with her two small children and husband. She is an avid animal lover and enjoys her chickens, two great Danes, and Pekingese.
