Logan Bernhardt, D.O.

Dr. Logan Bernhardt is a board-certified cardiologist with specialized fellowship training in advanced cardiac imaging. He brings exceptional expertise in cardiac CT and MRI, along with broad clinical cardiology experience, to James River Cardiology.
Dr. Bernhardt earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, cum laude, from the University of Arizona and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City, followed by a dedicated Advanced Cardiac Imaging (CT/MRI) fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital. He will complete his Cardiology fellowship at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey, prior to joining James River Cardiology, where he received comprehensive training across all aspects of cardiovascular care.
Dr. Bernhardt is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiac CT (CBCCT), Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography. He is board-eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiac MRI. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented his research at national conferences including the American College of Cardiology, Society of Cardiovascular CT, and Society of Hospital Medicine. He also led a quality improvement initiative to develop a comprehensive Cardiac CT interpretation guide for cardiology fellows.
Dr. Bernhardt is an active member of the American College of Cardiology, Society of Cardiovascular CT (SCCT), Society of Cardiovascular MR (SCMR), American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC), and American Society of Echocardiography (ASE). He is married to a practicing anesthesiologist, and the couple recently welcomed their first child — a healthy baby girl — in April 2026. They are excited to settle in Virginia and become part of the Richmond community.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball, weightlifting, traveling, and exploring local food scenes.
